When you think of surfing, a beach may be the first thing that comes to mind, but did you know that less than 30 minutes from Düsseldorf you can now surf the world’s first standing deepwater wave on a lake?
Surf Langenfeld offers everyone from beginners to experienced surfers the opportunity to catch a wave in a natural, open air environment. So whether you’re an avid surfer or just looking to get your feet wet (pun intended!) it’s a great way to have some fun and cool down on a hot summer day.
The wave machine generates standing waves up to 1.6 metres high, making it possible to use standard surfboards for the experience.
It’s a totally unique experience, and it’s just a quick drive or train trip from Düsseldorf.
If you’re up for an even more action packed day out, Wasserski Langenfeld, which offers waterskiing/wake boarding sessions and courses, is located nearby as well.
P.S. If you’re looking for more ways to stay cool this summer, don’t miss our list of 7 Places to Swim in Düsseldorf.
